I genuinely appreciate all the support I have received after starting this blog. I am amazed that people that I do not even know have made it a point to stop by and read what I have to say. It is so touching. All of you, my readers and followers, are on my mind every day. You are the reason I write. You are the inspiration in my brainstorming sessions. My goal with this blog is to be 100 percent transparent about my life from struggles to triumphs. I hope that you find peace and encouragement here.
Relationships are super important to me. I have always appreciated experiences over gifts. Silly games like would you rather, 20 questions, or even just goofy questions have always been fun to me. I enjoy getting to know others and just relax even if for a short time. Months ago, I bought a book called 3000 questions about me. We recently bought a new entertainment center and while cleaning it out I stumbled across this little treasure again. I thought it would be fun for me to answer some questions for you. I quick scanned through several pages and came up with 10 questions that caught my attention. Some are deep and some are silly. Check out my answers below.
1-What’s invisible, that you wish people could see?
I think this one is supposed to be light hearted, but my answer is a little deeper. I wish people could see their own worth. So often around me I see people who think the lowest of themselves. It breaks my heart when people think they aren’t worth love, security, etc.
2-What are you absolutely determined to do?
Grow long hair– my hair has always been around shoulder length. I’m curious what it would look like about the middle of my back. Get in the best physical shape of my life and hit my goal weight. I have always been terrible with self discipline. I usually prefer to do what feels good in the moment. As I am getting older personal development is important to me. I will do what I never thought I could.
3-What has been your proudest moment in life?
Definitely marrying my husband. He is amazing. I am so proud of him. His work ethic, tenacity, and drive are unsurpassed. He is an inspiration to me. He has more grit than anyone I know. He sacrifices so much for our family and always puts us first. He is stubborn as hell and it works in his favor (most of the time.)
4-What item could you never live without?
This one is tough for me because I am not really attached to “stuff.” But if I had to choose something it would probably be a good body lotion. I have terribly dry skin and if I don’t moisturize on a regular basis it feels as if my skin is getting smaller than my body. Not fun.
5-Social media or real-life contact? If you could only choose one?
Definitely real life. Social media doesn’t facilitate the kind of conversations that mean so much to me.
6-Who has had the biggest impact on your life? and How?
Well this answer is worthy of its own blog post which I will soon be writing. But without a doubt my “Papa.” He stayed true to himself and his faith despite incredible adversity. He will forever be the top influential person in my life.
7- If your life ended today, what would you regret and why?
I regret ever letting anyone determine who I am and what I am about. I had a rough battle with trying to fit in from 12 years old until I was about 20. Somewhere along the way I found my own voice and it changed my life. Had I not let other’s opinions get to me I would’ve been living a much happier life early on.
8-What’s your biggest challenge right now and how are you handling it?
I have always been a person who thrives off routines and schedules. However, my 5 month old hasn’t really developed a schedule yet so our life is kind of all over the place. That has been tough for me. It forces me to slow down instead of being my usual go,go,go. But it has honestly been good for me. It is only a season and we will adjust to our new normal soon enough.
9-Do you work to live or live to work?
I would say I am more of a work to live person. I enjoy being intentional in my relationships so often work is not my top priority. I mean we need to have food and pay the bills, but I don’t work to have a bunch of stuff or buy the next new thing. Technically, I don’t have a paying job right now. I am a stay at home mom. But my thoughts stay the same. Work enough to provide for your family and needs and enjoy as much time as you can with those in your circle.
10-What is your best life related advice you can leave us with today?
You do you! Do what works for you in your season. Trust your gut. Follow your instincts. All of that. Don’t let anybody dictate how you live your life. Make your own decisions. March to the beat of your own drum. Own your choices. If you make a decision, stick to it and take all the responsibility that comes along with it.
Just a little food for thought today. Challenge yourself and see what your answers would be. Share them in the comments if you feel up to the transparency.
